Colt Technology Services plans to further extend the Colt IQ Network in Dublin, ensuring its ability to provide high bandwidth solutions for one of Europe’s key business hubs.
Colt’s latest network expansion will see more than 150km of additional fibre being put into the ground in Dublin, a city where Colt already connects more than 350 buildings and 23 data centres. The move forms part of Colt’s wider expansion strategy, which aims to provision agile and on-demand high bandwidth solutions to customers across Europe, Asia and North America.
Colt has identified Dublin as a city where demand for high bandwidth connectivity services will increase over the coming years. According to the European Commission, the Irish economy will have grown by 5.6% by the end of 2018, driven by both the domestic market and foreign trade and investment.[1] This predicted economic growth is likely to attract continued interest in Dublin from enterprises and financial services firms seeking to expand their European presence.
Colt’s robust investment in the region will ensure that the Colt IQ Network, fully optimised to 100Gbps and specifically designed to provide the on-demand flexibility today’s businesses require, will be capable of serving the growing connectivity requirements of digital enterprises in Dublin. This latest expansion further extends the Colt’s global footprint, which currently connects more than 850 data centres and over 27,000 on net buildings.
Carl Grivner, CEO, Colt Technology Services said: “We see Dublin as being one of Europe’s key growth cities in the coming years. With multinational investment in Ireland only likely to increase, this expansion cements Colt as a leading network provider in the region, and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to enabling the digital transformation of businesses in today’s increasingly fast paced digital economy.”
