Gridstore supports Microsoft System Center 2012

Gridstore™ has announced the integration of Gridstore 3 with Microsoft System Center 2012, enabling a critical component in their delivery of the Cloud Data Center. The next wave in data center architecture designed to meet the rapidly evolving needs of organisations, the Cloud Data Center delivers predictable IT resources for applications as needed and can easily scale to meet demand, at a far lower cost than traditional infrastructure.

Gridstore’s integration with System Center allows for management of all resources via a single console. This central management provides for overall efficiency and flexibility, the first key element in the delivery of the Cloud Data Center. With System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) integration, Gridstore delivers policy-based provisioning and orchestration of storage resources at VM-level granularity including key characteristics such as Quality of Service and Data Protection Schemes.


Gridstore’s integration with System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) delivers a birds-eye view of VM storage resources including historical and real-time correlated performance statistics, heat maps for isolating potential resource bottlenecks, and drill downs for rapid troubleshooting to meet SLAs.


The second key element in the realisation of the Cloud Data Center is the abstraction of resources from the hardware layer, to enable elasticity of scalability and performance in compute, storage, and networking resources. Gridstore’s patented software-defined-storage allows you to start small and scale non-disruptively over time. The more nodes in a configuration, the more network bandwidth, more cache, more processing power and more capacity that ultimately delivers linear performance scalability. The Gridstore solution is delivered as storage nodes built on standard X86 hardware, thereby decreasing the overall cost of the solution.


The final element in the Cloud Data Center is resource management and delivery on a per-VM basis, enabling precise allocation and control to meet SLAs in performance, capacity, and cost. Gridstore’s unique end-to-end control, from the server with Gridstore’s patented vController installed, to storage nodes with Gridstore’s added value technology, creates an isolated IO lane for each VM and auto optimises to enable optimal application IO. Coupled with Gridstore Quality-of-Service TrueQoS, IO per-VM can be precisely controlled to enable the most critical applications receive the highest priority, delivering the right performance and prioritization of resources when and where they’re needed.

System Center integration will be available this quarter. All current and new customers running Gridstore 3 can upgrade with no disruption or hardware change.
