Belden reveals enhancements for strengthened IT/OT networks

Belden expands its portfolio with new products and enhancements to strengthen IT/OT networks, aiming to improve efficiency and security across industries.

Belden has introduced a range of new products and software updates designed to support the development of IT/OT networks. The offerings target sectors including transportation, energy, and manufacturing, where Operational Technology (OT) networks are increasingly required to manage larger volumes of field data, improve response times, and connect remote assets while maintaining network availability and data security.

As OT network requirements continue to evolve, organisations are seeking ways to collect more data from field devices, increase operational visibility, and support connectivity between distributed assets and central systems. Belden's latest infrastructure solutions are intended to provide edge-to-core connectivity in industrial and demanding operating environments.

Key product launches include:

  • Belden LioN-X IO-Link Masters: Designed to provide digital connectivity at the machine level, these devices support cabinet wiring simplification and offer access to device diagnostics, visibility, and data at the network edge.
  • Hirschmann IT DAP849 Wireless Access Points: Featuring Wi-Fi 6 technology, these access points are designed to support long-range connectivity and operation in environments with electromagnetic interference. They are housed in an IP67-rated enclosure.
  • Hirschmann GREYHOUND GRS2000 L2/L3 Switches: These switches provide high-density switching capabilities and support up to 10 GE backbone connectivity, enabling network expansion and supporting future industrial infrastructure requirements.
  • Belden Virtual Firewall TBF-800V: A virtual firewall designed to help protect OT environments from cybersecurity threats while supporting the availability requirements of industrial operations.

According to Belden, these products are intended to operate as an integrated system across industries such as transportation, energy, and manufacturing, supporting the transmission of field-generated data throughout OT environments and helping secure connections between OT and IT networks.

Additional releases include the FiberExpress XHD Fiber Angled Patch Panel, Hirschmann Industrial HiVision Version 8.7, and updates to macmon NAC Versions 6.5.0 and 6.6.0. These additions are intended to support network management and security functions.

The product and software updates are aimed at supporting the development of edge-to-core OT networks by addressing connectivity, visibility, network management, and IT/OT integration requirements.
