TelecityGroup launches cloud-neutral ecosystem

Cloud-IX by TelecityGroup to enable customers to execute private, hybrid and public cloud deployments through direct connections into leading cloud and IT service providers.

TelecityGroup, Europe’s leading provider of premium carrier-neutral data centres, has today launched Cloud-IX, an innovative cloud-neutral ecosystem which will enable customers to fully leverage the potential of the cloud, with flexible and scalable public, private and hybrid cloud solutions. The Cloud-IX platform will be rolled out to customers located in any of TelecityGroup's facilities across Europe, providing direct connectivity with leading and most innovative cloud providers, including Amazon Web Services; iland, VMware’s global cloud provider of the year; CSC; Fujitsu and Outsourcery.
In particular, Cloud-IX will enable customers to maximise the efficiency, flexibility and security of the hybrid cloud by establishing dedicated network connections from their private or managed infrastructure into any of the cloud providers that are part of the platform. Cloud-IX will enable businesses to make sophisticated choices around the deployment of their applications, without restrictions due to data sovereignty or vendor lock-in. By integrating hybrid platforms with the cloud providers of their choice, the platform will allow customers to seamlessly connect to, and between, cloud providers, physical systems and networks as part of TelecityGroup’s vibrant digital ecosystem.

Cloud-IX is the next stage in TelecityGroup's ongoing commitment - as Europe’s leading carrier neutral data centre provider - to deliver innovative, business-focused solutions to support the cloud. With a combination of premium infrastructure, connectivity and location in Europe’s key internet hubs, TelecityGroup provides the optimal data centre environments in which to locate cloud infrastructure. With a choice of more than 400 carriers present in its facilities, many of the world’s largest cloud service providers (CSPs) have already established TelecityGroup as their data centre provider of choice in Europe.

Michael Tobin, CEO of TelecityGroup says: “Businesses across Europe are looking at ways they can maximise the power of the cloud to enhance the performance of their core platforms, manage big data with ease, and deliver enhanced and scalable service offerings; all against the background of ever increasing expectations in terms of security, auditability and data sovereignty. At the same time, they have the traditional challenges of maintaining service levels and maximising the benefit of existing IT investments. Key to solving this challenge is building flexible solutions that utilise the elasticity and economic benefits of the public cloud alongside existing IT infrastructure, all with direct connectivity into local and international carriers.”
“Cloud-IX by TelecityGroup enables the best of both worlds, combining premium carrier neutral data centres to house existing mission-critical infrastructure with access to the key global cloud platforms. By delivering our Cloud-IX proposition, and enabling an unparalleled opportunity to consume public and private cloud services, we are ensuring that customers can utilise the richness of cloud service operators across our data centres to build and strengthen their underlying platforms for business growth.”
