NDC brings a festival for developers to London

Applications and service developers get the chance to come out and play – possibly literally – as the Norwegian Developer Conference spreads its wings and comes to London in December

When it comes to cloud services one of the important corners is the applications and services development community. In the end, they are the ones that make things actually happen – or not.

Developing their skills is particularly important in the cloud world, not least because it takes them beyond simply developing a single application, but to building complete business services that are both new code and new ways of building collaboration and integration between existing applications.

So the arrival in London’s ExCeL exhibition and conference centre of NDC London, described as the first UK Festival for Developers, is worth highlighting, for here is an event dedicated to their specific needs.

The doors will be open between the 4thand 6thof December this year. It is the first time NDC has been held outside of Oslo, where the Norwegian Developers Conference is already a successful event.

The organisers hope that the festival will deliver access to expert knowledge, fantastic networking and social events and a truly unforgettable experience to all attendees.

A number of exclusive talks with leading international experts on .NET and Agile are already lined up, including Jon Skeet, Java developer for Google in London, Scott Allen, founder of OdeToCode LLC and a software consultant, from Baltimore, MD, Mike Cohn, highly–respected and sought after trainer and speaker, in demand for agile and Scrum training around the globe, Rob Conery, co–founder of Tekpub.com, an online video learning resource for developers of all shapes and sizes, and Dominick Baier, associate consultant for German company Thinktecture.

: “As NDC London will be the first time NDC goes outside Oslo we will hold nothing back as we aim to create the best developer conference that London has ever seen – boosting the industry like a ‘vitamin injection’,” Jakob Bradford, Director NDC London, said. “Attendees can expect the same successful structure as NDC Oslo with brand new content. Bringing together developers and leading IT companies in the highly interactive Expo area for knowledge exchange, and an unparalleled networking opportunity.”

NDC London hopes to attract more than 1,000 participants and its unique festive atmosphere and strong sense of community will generate opportunities for Programmers, Software Architects, Project Managers and IT Executives to network with a range of partners from leading IT companies. The conference will offer an arena for developers to share, gain and celebrate expert knowledge, and the perfect ‘feel good’ boost to the ever-evolving developer community.
