The suite of services is designed to empower Enterprise IT organisations with the data necessary to make more intelligent economic decisions about infrastructure. "IT infrastructure is one of the largest sunken cost in Enterprises today," said Graham Brown, MD of Gyrocom. "6fusion's technology and the open marketplace is transforming the way we think and talk about IT making it an economic rather than a technical conversation and affording businesses a degree of visibility and control not previously available," he added.
The basis of the new service offering is 6fusion's patented Workload Allocation Cube (WAC) technology. The WAC normalizes the consumption requirements of IT workloads across heterogeneous environments such as public clouds and private IT assets. According to Brown, "This has traditionally proved difficult to establish because of the complexity in bringing together all of the necessary data feeds. Our approach dramatically simplifies the data gathering process and consolidates months of effort into days."
The outcome of the service is that an Enterprise IT consumer that can make better, more informed decisions about where certain workloads are best suited for operation. Such a service offering is considered timely. A recent Gartner report* revealed that the second highest business priority for government CIOs in 2013 was improving IT applications and infrastructure, an area of IT improvement that was not ranked in 2012 or 2011.
John Cowan, CEO and Co-Founder of 6fusion said, "As organisations around the world are presented with an increasingly diverse set of execution venues for IT workloads, intelligence and insight are becoming very powerful tools. Gyrocom and 6fusion have a unique ability to leverage business process expertise with the insights derived from applying 6fusion's infrastructure metering platform to drive powerful business outcomes."
