With cross-Island data centres, Calligo offers their clients the option to host in Jersey, Guernsey or both, along with the option to replicate their data between sites for disaster recovery purposes. CalligoCloud services are distributed across the two locations, delivering the highest levels of availability and resilience within the Channel Islands. The partnership means CWC will provide clients the hosting and bandwidth while Calligo provide their portfolio of products and services.
Justin Bellinger, Data Centre Director, Cable & Wireless Communications stated, “By partnering with Calligo, CWC now offers a portfolio of cloud products that includes Infrastructure-, Platform- and Software as a Service across Jersey and Guernsey. We are looking forward to jointly delivering business-changing cloud services to our joint customers.”
This new data centre opening and partnership with CWC is a continuation of the exciting expansion plans Calligo has in the offshore market. Earlier in the year Calligo announced its expansion plans backed by an investment from Ti23.
“No other Channel Islands provider can deliver cloud services hosted across the two islands with data replication. Calligo is delivering on its promise to deliver a federated cloud across offshore jurisdictions – a unique offering that addresses the concerns of many offshore businesses who have requested a more diversified service than those previously available,” commented Andrew Wicks, chief commercial officer, Calligo.
