Patton's advanced AVoIP Gateway

Patton slashes pricing, offers new software upgrade for FiberPlex FPX6000 AVoIP Gateway enhancing AV-over-IP capabilities.

Patton, a renowned player in the realm of Unified Communications and media broadcast products, has unveiled a update for its FiberPlex FPX6000 AVoIP Gateway series. Notably, this release is accompanied by a promising 50% price reduction.

Known for their effortless installation and usability, Patton's AVoIP gateways are enhanced with the Dante controller. This feature streamlines operations, making the routing and managing of audio and video traffic as simple as a press of a button.

In a remarkable stride made in August 2021, Patton emerged as a front-runner in the introduction of Dante AV products. The recent price cut of the FPX6000 Gateway is matched by a sophisticated software update incorporating the latest Colibri firmware.

Colibri, an innovative video codec crafted by Audinate, offers seamlessly lossless quality with minimal latency. The FPX6000 now boasts compatibility with all Dante AV Ultra products that support Colibri, including devices from key players such as Bolin and AJA Video.

The gateway also guarantees interoperability with Dante Audio from the Dante AV-A and AV-H families. Anticipated software updates from Audinate later this year aim to facilitate video transcoding between Dante AV Ultra and Dante AV-H.

With cutting-edge 4K video technology, Dante AV is designed to transmit high-quality audio alongside 4K60p 4:4:4 video over 1-Gbps IP networks with negligible latency.

The FPX6000's design simplicity extends to compatibility with Dante Studio and Dante Domain Manager, further emphasising its ease of use. It effortlessly integrates with existing Ethernet backbones, allows for the insertion of eight audio channels, and incorporates a video channel equipped with HDCP encryption.

Dante's mechanisms promise synchronised audio and video integration. By maintaining a single network clock throughout the system, it eradicates alignment issues, minimising distortion and phase noise due to jitter. This ensures that mixed networks of audio, video, and data function smoothly while reserving bandwidth for broadcast media.

Aside from delivering exceptional audio and video quality, the FPX6000 is outfitted with cutting-edge peripheral connectivity options—USB 2.0, USB OTG for user interfaces, infrared for remote operations, and serial controls for PTZ features, marking it as a versatile hub in the complex field of AV-over-IP technologies.
