Numecent, recognised in application containerisation and cloud-native delivery, has unveiled an enhancement to its Cloudpaging Player - support for Windows on Arm (WoA). With this advancement, Numecent carves a new path as the first in application virtualisation and container management to offer native compatibility for Windows on Arm devices.

This development ensures a new level of interactivity with the next wave of Windows hardware that use Arm-based processors like the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform.

"Gartner predicts Windows on Arm devices will have 20% PC OS market share by 2028," said Arthur Hitomi, Co-Founder and CEO of Numecent. Numecent's strategy aligns with this trend, capitalising on the enhanced battery life, performance, and AI-readiness provided to enterprise IT teams by the Windows on Arm initiative. He emphasised the company’s ambition to containerise applications for deployment on any Windows device, stating, “It is our responsibility to ensure our customers can adopt Windows on Arm as soon as possible."

The announcement allows Numecent customers to immediately commence distributing even complex and legacy applications on Arm-based Windows devices. The fusion of Cloudpager's AI packaging capabilities with integrations such as Intune and App Attach in Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop empowers IT teams to smoothly transition all applications to any Windows system, ensuring functionality and performance remain intact.

“As Windows continues its transformation to meet the needs of modern, AI-powered computing, support for Arm-based devices is critical for delivering performance, efficiency, and flexibility to our customers,” said the Partner Director of Product Management, Windows at Microsoft, Klaus Diaconu. "We’re thrilled to see partners like Numecent move quickly to enable application compatibility across all Windows device architectures... Their support for Windows on Arm helps accelerate enterprise adoption by removing barriers for legacy and modern applications alike, allowing organisations to fully embrace the next generation of Windows experiences.”

Numecent’s Cloudpager platform reaffirms its unchallenged status as the foremost cloud-native application container management platform for Windows desktops. It ingeniously merges DevOps workflows with application delivery, permitting administrators to proficiently manage applications across various architectures—x86, x64, or Arm-based—through secure and automated processes.
