Hyve Managed Hosting launches container-based hosting platform

Hyve provides customers with a private instance of the enterprise Docker platform with expert support and guidance.

Hyve Managed Hosting, a leading managed hosting and cloud service provider, has launched a container-based hosting platform that runs on specially designed Hyve infrastructure and provides customers with an easy to use interface with support for deployment, load balancing and clustering.

Hyve Managed Hosting will run a private instance of an enterprise Docker platform for each customer based on a high availability VMware enterprise cloud in both the UK and the US. Suited for enterprise grade applications, Hyve’s Docker container hosting takes the risk and security concerns out of shared containers and provides a fully managed platform that combines daily management of the containers backed by the service and support for running DevOps integration between development and production environments.

“As Docker containers continue to grow in prominence by offering organisations small, neat capsules that contain their applications and are less resource heavy, they also bring another wave of next technology for resource strapped IT departments to learn and manage,” said Jon Lucas, co-found and director, Hyve Managed Hosting. “By offering a hosted container platform, we are enabling organisations to tap into the benefits of container technology with a trusted partner who can simplify the solution and offer support and guidance from initial set up through day to day management.”

Providing virtual machines, cloud and container-based hosting infrastructures also allows Hyve to advise customers on which platform is best suited for each workload, from databases to web servers and applications. The combination of infrastructure and services enables customers to take advantage of best in breed technology with superior support and the reassurance that their assets are running on the best platform from a cost, performance and security perspective.
