Open Systems selects CenturyLink Cloud Platform

CenturyLink's CenturyLink Cloud Platform has been selected by Swiss network security provider Open Systems to power its security services in the cloud. Open Systems will offer their bespoke security services to businesses globally, including international engineering and manufacturing firm Sulzer on CenturyLink’s cloud-based infrastructure.

Open Systems, one of the leading global network security providers, headquartered in Switzerland, joins CenturyLink’s global channel partnership programme as an ecosystem partner. Open Systems supports customers from global enterprises to NGOs across 185 countries, offering Mission Control security services from application delivery to identity management.

“The cloud will be an important part of the future for global enterprises. While many of our customers want the flexibility of the cloud, they are unsure of what steps to take, especially in industries where connectivity, uptime and system security are of paramount importance,” said Stefan Lampart, senior VP, customer management at Open Systems. “Sulzer, as one of the most innovative companies in Europe, identified the cloud as the next chapter for their business and wanted our Mission Control security services to be supported by the CenturyLink Cloud platform.”

Stefan Lampart is convinced that CenturyLink Cloud meets all the requirements of today’s modern enterprises: “The CenturyLink Cloud platform enables us to host our security services anywhere, protecting our customers’ digital transformation projects that propel them to become modern, agile companies that are industry leaders. CenturyLink’s experts are key in ensuring that projects are prepared and implemented quickly and to the satisfaction of our customers.”

“Our digital transformation project was pivotal to Sulzer’s long-term strategy, so we wanted to work with partners who were able to realise our long-term vision. This programme not only increased the operational efficiency of our global IT infrastructure, but also reduced costs,” explains Urs Schmied, head of IT Infrastructure at Sulzer.

“We were delighted to work with Open Systems, taking their managed secure gateway into the public cloud. The capability to deploy a secure appliance rapidly and in a scalable fashion via the cloud is tremendously powerful and one which supports organisations as they work with other on- and off-premise services, ensuring strong application and data security,” said Matt Leonard, EMEA sales engineering and digital transformation director at CenturyLink.
