Alteryx acquires Yhat

Alteryx has acquired Yhat, Inc., a data science software company headquartered in Brooklyn, New York.

Yhat specialises in providing data scientists and analysts with self-service data science tools for developing, managing and deploying machine learning models to web and mobile applications faster and with fewer resources. The acquisition will further enhance the Alteryx data analytics platform and build on its strategy to help organisations empower citizen data scientists and trained data scientists to rapidly deploy and manage advanced analytic models.

“Yhat shares a core value with Alteryx of making analytics easier through self-service tools for its customers,” said Dean Stoecker, CEO and co-founder of Alteryx, Inc. “Today’s data scientists are spending too much time building advanced models that never reach deployment. With Alteryx and Yhat technology, we expect to make modeling tools more accessible to accelerate deployment, saving time and frustration, and bringing joy back to data scientists and citizen data scientists alike who love to solve complex business problems.”

Most data scientists today build predictive and machine learning models in open source programming languages and then need to deploy that code into different technology frameworks, which is time consuming, error-prone and requires additional development resources - often stalling data science projects altogether. The Yhat platform helps reduce the roadblock between data scientists and development teams by accelerating the model making and model deployment processes.

“Alteryx already offers a code-free environment for advanced analytics that simplifies data access, preparation, analysis, and consumption,” stated Austin Ogilvie, CEO of Yhat. “We are excited to be part of the Alteryx family, and to help make it even easier to create, manage, and deploy analytic models with fewer resources and in less time.”
