Pulsant wins cloud and managed hosting contract to host SAP infrastructure for Innovia Films

Pulsant has been selected by Innovia Films to supply a dedicated hosting platform for its SAP infrastructure. Innovia Films is a global manufacturer of biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films used in the packaging, labelling and securities markets.

Innovia took the decision to move its entire SAP infrastructure — supporting logistics, CRM and warehousing — to a hosting provider following its adoption of the SAP HANA platform. Pulsant was awarded the tender following a competitive process in which the hybrid cloud solutions provider demonstrated the responsiveness and flexibility in the solution that Innovia Films required.
 
Pulsant is working with Edenhouse Solutions, a long-time customer and Innovia’s SAP implementation specialist, to develop and implement the hosting solution, which includes Pulsant Enterprise Cloud, disaster recovery services and managed hosting. The solution is dual site, hosted out of Pulsant’s Milton Keynes and Reading datacentres, two in the company’s interconnected network of 15 sites.

“We’ve been working with Edenhouse for the last five years, helping the team build out SAP infrastructures in the cloud and hosting environments for existing and new customers. As a result, we had the expertise and experience to deliver the best solution to Innovia, supporting the company as it sought to move its in-house infrastructure to a hosting provider,” says Russell Smith, solutions architect, Pulsant.
 
“In addition to understanding the customer’s aims and objectives in moving to our hosting platform, we also have the advantage of collaborating with best-of-breed hardware vendors, such as Dell, to make sure we deliver the right solution that perfectly meets the needs of the project both now and in the longer term.”
 
The project is already underway with one of the platforms installed and running. The rest of the infrastructure will be deployed and completed in the second quarter of 2017.
