400G at Light Speed

Panduit EMEA, together with Cisco, IDC and Fluke Networks Europe have combined their considerable expertise in high-speed fibre optic technology and data centre communications infrastructure, to offer a free half-day event – 400G at Light Speed, on Tuesday, March 7, at The National Theatre, South Bank, London.

Aimed at Network and IT Architects, IT Managers and Directors, and Data Centre Managers, 400G at Light Speed brings together fibre optics industry experts from around the globe offering guidance and discussing advanced solutions to latency and bandwidth requirements for the next decade.

In the zettabyte age communications infrastructure is the next battle ground. Next generation Ethernet supporting up to 200G transmission (IEEE 802.3cd) is not expected to be ratified until September 2018. The massive increase in data generated, stored and shared around the world surpassed the zettabyte (1000 exabytes) in 2016 and continues to increase. This is placing an enormous strain on the capabilities of today’s data centres.
