The Cloud Industry Forum (CIF) has reached an agreement with EuroCloud UK that will see its UK members absorbed into the CIF membership community after EuroCloud’s UK chapter ceases operations from 31st January 2017.  The arrangement significantly enhances CIF’s membership, footprint and outreach, as well as its building on the work that EuroCloud have focused on across the public sector and elsewhere.

EuroCloud UK, established as part of the EuroCloud network of national communities, was set up to encourage and promote the interests and benefits of cloud computing within the UK and to enable knowledge sharing, networking and alliances within the industry. Since its founding it has worked to raise the visibility of cloud and combat misinformation and uncertainty about the delivery model. Its membership has taken the decision to join forces with CIF to further advance those objectives.

As of today (1 February 2017), the EuroCloud UK brand will cease to exist and CIF will take over the EuroCloud UK membership. EuroCloud UK’s 50+ members are all being invited to transition their membership to CIF with immediate effect and CIF will continue to honour the terms of their EuroCloud UK memberships with the additional benefits of CIF’s membership.

EuroCloud UK’s members will have full access to CIF’s value proposition, including its Professional Membership and e-learning scheme, and will be encouraged to continue their membership with CIF once they reach their membership anniversary with EuroCloud UK.

Alex Hilton, CEO of the Cloud Industry Forum, commented: “EuroCloud UK has played an important role in the continued development of the cloud industry both here and on the continent so I’m delighted to be joining forces and welcoming its members to the CIF family. CIF will continue to honour the commitments made to EuroCloud UK’s members and I think we will be all the stronger for it. EuroCloud UK’s 50 members have a significant amount of experience in the public sector, particularly with G-Cloud, and a strong footprint in Europe, which will be of direct benefit to CIF and our existing roster of members.”

Phil Wainewright, Chair of EuroCloud UK, added: “The Cloud Industry Forum’s mission is very closely aligned to that of EuroCloud UK’s and we have always seen clear synergies between the two organisations. Combining forces with all our members under the CIF banner and working towards a common goal is a welcome development that stands to benefit the wider industry. I’m very pleased with the contribution EuroCloud UK has made since I founded the organisation with the help and support of other leading figures in the industry, and I look forward to very positive results from our new cooperation with CIF.”
