Scale Computing and Information Builders partner

Scale Computing and Information Builders have announced a new BI and analytics appliance, the Scale Analytics Appliance, at the Midsize Enterprise Summit (MES) West.

The Scale Analytics Appliance enables companies to get sophisticated reporting and analytics without requiring significant IT support. It combines Information Builders’ WebFOCUS Business User Edition software and Scale Computing’s HC3 virtualisation platform to address the broadest range of business intelligence and analytic needs – from data preparation and integration to self-service reporting and data discovery. It delivers reports, charts, and visualisations and is oriented to less-technical users.  Scale Analytics empowers users with an app-like environment that will enable midsize organisations to leverage information from any source for better decision-making at a fraction of the time and cost.

“We considered implementing Business Intelligence for a long time. We don’t make widgets or fit the standard mold and we don’t speak the language that enterprise Business Intelligence folks speak,” said Melanie Ellingson, Director of IT of Empire Air. “We were aware of Information Builders, but when we saw the Business User Edition and who it was built for and having it packaged as an appliance on a Scale platform, we thought this is finally a solution that fits our mold. The support and training were great, along with the learning tools provided. Having our data on premises is a real big deal for us and this new appliance helped make it a reality.”

"A business intelligence and analytics appliance is really a unique offering,” said Gerald Cohen, president and CEO of Information Builders. “It is easy to deploy, administer and use, and it eliminates large upfront investments in software and hardware. Information Builders is proud to work with leading-edge companies like Scale Computing to help small and medium-size organisations achieve their business goals."

“We are proud that Scale Computing and Information Builders have selected the Midsize Enterprise Summit West for their announcement,” said Robert DeMarzo, Senior Vice President, Event Content and Strategy, The Channel Company. “Both companies have independently and repeatedly won top awards for excellence at this conference, and it’s great to see them form a partnership that specifically targets this marketplace. MES brings together one of the largest independent gatherings of midmarket CIOs and senior IT executives, and I think our community will be excited to see a combined offering.”

“Midsized organisations want business intelligence but their IT staff say that they need to buy more capacity to make it happen, or that they need more servers or more storage, or that there are other projects that need to be done first,” said Jeff Ready, CEO, and co-founder of Scale Computing. “The Scale Analytics Appliance eliminates all of that friction. It is easy to install and quick to deploy with tons of pre-existing reports, charts, documents and dashboards available that can be used with data discovery to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for their businesses. This has never before been possible until Scale and Information Builders created this easy-to-use solution.”
