Fordway launches four security services for latest iteration of framework

Managed cloud and IT infrastructure provider Fordway has launched four security ‘as a service’ products to help public sector organisations remain compliant and proactively monitor their estate for new threats. Endpoint Protection, Security Monitoring, Security Management and Patch Management are all available from the Digital Marketplace through the new G-Cloud 8 framework.

Fordway has been offering services through G-Cloud since the framework’s first iteration. In February 2016 the company was 33rd in a list of G-Cloud suppliers, with more than ?6.5 million in sales for clients including BIS, DECC, the Skills Funding Agency and UKAS – demonstrating that smaller suppliers can successfully win work through the framework.

“Organisations face a continued challenge to stay protected and compliant while ensuring everything is backed up in case the worst should happen, particularly with an increasingly mobile workforce,” said Richard Blanford, Fordway managing director. “These new security services enable users to pass some of the risk to Fordway, taking advantage of the latest tools and our best practice processes combined with automated back-ups to the public cloud.”

Fordway’s Endpoint Data Protection and Compliance Service manages data backup, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), file sharing  and other services on all nominated Windows, Mac, IOS, Android and Linux devices, thus protecting remote, mobile and home workers as well as those who are office based. Based on Druva’s data protection software, it incorporates Fordway’s dedicated 24x7 monitoring.

The other three new services are part of Fordway’s portfolio of Cloud Intermediation Services (CIMS), all offered within G-Cloud 8, which help organisations choose, implement and manage the optimum mix of cloud services for their needs and implement them smoothly and efficiently. Security Monitoring includes vulnerability assessment and posture analysis to identify unusual activity before it leads to an attack, while Security Management helps users review and plan their security requirements and supports the transition of services into the cloud across multiple suppliers. Patch management ensures that organisations stay up to date as new vulnerabilities are identified, freeing up in-house teams for other activities.
