Aegis Data enters into partnership with Custodian

Partnership brings enhancements in disaster recovery and high performance compute capabilities.

Colocation data centre providers Aegis Data and Custodian Data Centres have entered into a partnership to expand their carrier neutral offering across its entire client portfolio. By partnering with Custodian, Aegis Data are able to offer a range of IP transit networks to its customers, as well as expand its DDoS protection and high performance compute (HPC) capabilities.

Aegis Data, a colocation data centre provider in Surrey, already has a reputation for offering HPC capabilities, from its new purpose built, state of the art facility. By partnering with Custodian Data Centres, who host a number of HPC clusters for various universities and financial trading organisations, this offering is now expanded to offer clients an increased level of processing power. With the ability to match power and delivery of up to 25kw, within the same footprint, Aegis Data are now able to provide a greater service to its customers thanks to its new partnership. The disaster recovery functionality offered by Custodian Data Centres also enables Aegis Data to assure its customers that their data is secure and can be recovered in light of the most testing of incidents.

“We are really excited about our partnership with Custodian as it opens the doors to a mutual partnership that ultimately benefits both of our clients,” said Greg McCulloch, CEO Aegis Data. “Custodian have the fifth highest number of adjacent peering’s in the country, offering high connectivity with its own independent fibre network. Their proven high density capability will provide our customers with greater power capabilities and the assurance that we are working with a reliable supplier who is able to match the high expectations we have at Aegis Data.”

By partnering with another colocation provider, Aegis Data are now able to deliver a truly diverse network offering, enabling clients to choose which IP transit provider they use. The addition of a new network partner is another sign that Aegis Data is growing within the colocation data market and becoming an established player.

“We were really impressed with the Aegis Data facility, both the existing infrastructure and the surrounding land that they have to grow in to. In addition, Aegis Data secured a new round of funding so partnering with a financially secure data centre was very important to us,” says Leonard Kay, Commercial Director, Custodian Data Centres.

“We’ve searched a long term for a like-minded business partner that is able to provide the necessary density, flexibility and scalability needed to help take Custodian to the next level – Aegis provides this in abundance, both in terms of space and HPC capabilities. In doing so, this presents some really exciting growth opportunities for both organisations.

The necessary infrastructure for the partnership has already been laid and the network between Aegis Data and Custodian Data Centres is already live.
