MapR names country manager for UK, Ireland and the Middle East

MapR Technologies has appointed Paul Tarantino to the newly created role of Country Manager for UK & Ireland and the Middle East. Tarantino will be responsible for extending sales and partnerships within those regions.

Tarantino brings nearly 20 years of experience in the IT and enterprise software industry to MapR.  Most recently as Sales Director of EMEA Mid-Market, he was instrumental in establishing MapR accounts in numerous countries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining MapR, Tarantino held sales leadership roles at several companies, including BMC Software, Sun Microsystems and KPMG Consulting. He also founded his own data centre virtualisation and online applications software business.

"I am privileged to be leading the teams across the UK, Ireland and the Middle East as MapR experiences its highest ever growth across the globe,” said Tarantino. “Organisations across the region have been fast to recognise the benefits of a Converged Data Platform, be that to develop better healthcare, detect fraud in real-time or gain a complete view of every customer; the list of use cases is endless. With an added focus on teaming up with our key partners, I look forward to servicing growing customer demand, accelerating our momentum and continuing to work with great people."

“It is fantastic to have someone with Paul’s energy, background and level of industry experience to lead our teams,” commented Patrik Svanstrom, vice president, EMEA, MapR Technologies. “I look forward to working more closely with him as we continue to extend our business further in these rapidly growing regions."
