Ikoula, a French hosting company, is stepping up its international expansion

As part of its European expansion, Ikoula - French expert of Cloud hosting - has acquired Ermis, a Dutch hosting company. Founded in 2003, Ermis occupies a leading position on the Dutch market with over 4,600 active clients in the SOHO and the public sector market segment. The company received the ICTWaarborg Award* of the Best Business Service Provider for the years 2014 and 2015.

The acquisition of 100% of Ermis equity allows the opening of the “Ikoula Nederland" subsidiary with a local presence. This is the second step of our expansion in The Netherlands after the launch of Ikoula Cloud service in Amsterdam during last September.

The Dutch market is one of the most dynamic in Europe: in 2015, the part of IaaS (infrastructure-as-a-service) accounted for 340 million euros, a growth of over 11.7% of the market scheduled for 2018*.

This acquisition will enable Ikoula to accompany French customers in their expansion and to improve the management of our local clients with teams with recognized expertise in the field of sales and customer support in Rotterdam.

"Our two companies share the same vision of the market and the customer support with technical support available 24/7. The acquisition of Ermis allows us to access the Dutch market alongside an actor with proven track records and familiar with local conditions " says Jules-Henri Gavetti, CEO of Ikoula.

"With the range of Ikoula products which complements and expands our existing portfolio, Ikoula is the ideal partner for the clients of Ermis. This means that customers in the region will benefit from the expertise of both companies through a broad portfolio of services." says Dimitri Tzoumas, Sales and Marketing manager for Ikoula B.V.

Ikoula plans to double its turnover in the Netherlands by the end of 2016, strengthening the teams on site and offering a wide choice of solutions and value added services in order to establish itself as a Cloud expert in the Netherlands.

Founded in 1998, Ikoula has attracted a large clientele and hosts today the projects of more than 20,000 clients in both French Data Centers. In 2014, the arrival of Ardian (previously Axa Private Equity) in its equity was an important milestone for the company.

Backed by an investment of 10 million euros, Ikoula will continue in the coming months to expand its presence worldwide, with other acquisitions in Europe or subsidiaries openings in the world that allow the company to offer in other countries the degree of innovation, the quality of service and the level of customer support that have made its success in France.
