Tieto helping Swedish Research Council move into the cloud

The Swedish Research Council, a public agency that advises the government on scientific research, has chosen Tieto as its partner to modernize its IT operations with the help of cloud-based services and solutions. The deal is for four years and has an estimated value of SEK 20 million.

During the contract period, Tieto will deliver standardized and scalable operating services that will help the Swedish Research Council harmonize and streamline its IT usage throughout the organization. Tieto will also provide a Service Desk and infrastructure that will simplify day-to-day activities for employees and end-users and give the agency increased control over IT costs.

- By further outsourcing our IT operations and management, the Swedish Research Council can meet the future with more modern and secure solutions. Tieto offers a portfolio and delivery model that helps us develop our operations, while the pricing model provides increased transparency and flexibility, says Torulf Lind, CIO, Swedish Research Council.

Tieto has had a partnership with the Swedish Research Council since 2007 and the new deal creates an even stronger relationship where Tieto will serve as a full delivery partner. Tieto’s modern solutions will give the agency improved operational stability and seamless delivery of a broad IT portfolio that can be adjusted to meet the needs of the organization.

Tieto will also take full responsibility for the Service Desk, both on site and through a support centre in Sweden, which will increase the operational stability of the agency’s network.

- We are very pleased to become a full delivery partner for the Swedish Research Council and glad to provide the agency with a number of benefits through our service components and modern solutions. By using cloud-based services, the Council can control its IT costs by scaling its usage up or down while also enjoying better stability, says Madeleine Rittner Chami, Head of Government Sector, Tieto Sweden.
