SSE Enterprise Telecoms has begun working with managed network provider, Securus Communications, delivering multiple 100Mbps fibre connections to extend the firm’s reach and strengthen its position in the market.  The partnership has enabled Securus to agree a connectivity deal with Hammer Holdings, which owns brands such as Urban Retreat and The London School of Beauty and Makeup.
Hammer Holdings is the parent company of Harrods-based salon and spa, Urban Retreat, and The London School of Beauty and Makeup, as well as a number of other events and operations companies.  Thanks to the partnership with SSE Enterprise Telecoms, Securus has been able to provide a range of high speed internet services to Hammer Holdings, as well as an entire private network for Urban Retreat.  With gigabit-level connectivity, enterprise-class security and centralised internet breakout, Urban Retreat’s private network has enabled the company to process credit card transactions quickly and securely.
Securus utilised the LIVEQUOTE element of SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ service portfolio to secure the Hammer Holdings deal.  This innovative price comparison engine compares and analyses the Ethernet quotes of leading UK carriers, as well as SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ own 13,700km network, enabling Securus to find and provision network services in real-time and at the most cost-effective price possible.  LIVEQUOTE ensures that Securus can be as agile as possible to meet customer demand, for example, when customers such as Hammer Holdings require quotes for three separate connectivity projects.
“The connectivity delivered by Securus and SSE Enterprise Telecoms has increased our network’s speed ten fold, without additional cost or complication, and this was critical to our choice of network provider,” said Vince Bryan, IT Director for Hammer Holdings.  “It was the Government’s Broadband Connection Voucher Scheme that initially opened up the potential for us to boost connectivity to our premises and we’re delighted that Securus and SSE Enterprise Telecoms have helped us turn this into a reality.  Our customers can now benefit from always-on connectivity and industry-leading network security: a level of service which is paramount in a market where customers expect nothing less than perfection.”
“With SSE Enterprise Telecoms, we have the confidence that comes from having a trusted network provider in place and the service to date has been flawless,” said Brett Rowe, Director of Securus Communications. “SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ network provisioning has been particularly impressive and, having a dedicated account team on-hand throughout the course of the deployment to proactively deliver project updates, has certainly been helpful.  What’s more, SSE Enterprise Telecoms’ solution is so easy to deploy and manage that it actually minimises our overheads, allowing us to concentrate on providing the best service possible for our customers.”
“The LIVEQUOTE price comparison tool has also been extremely useful.  It does exactly what it says on the tin, providing a range of quotes via a portal that can be accessed 24/7.  With LIVEQUOTE, we can quickly and easily refer back to indexed quotes, which is a level of functionality that simply isn’t offered by other tools.  As our requirements evolve and our customer base expands, we have our sights set on further network expansions with SSE Enterprise Telecoms as our provider of choice.  Watch this space!” concluded Rowe.
“The relationship has certainly got off to a flying start, with our team having helped to extend Securus’ reach and strengthen its market presence as a wholesale network provider,” said Colin Sempill, Managing Director of SSE Enterprise Telecoms.  “We’re also delighted that our agile LIVEQUOTE tool, which was specifically developed with customers like Securus in mind, has been so helpful in sourcing the best quotes around-the-clock.”
