The VMware Managed Service Provider (MSP) model enables vCloud Air Network Service Providers to maintain their existing relationship with aggregators like Avnet, while enabling a new revenue stream reselling VMware vCloud Air. The programme’s VMware vCloud® Air Disaster Recovery offering also enables Service Providers to ensure business continuity for their customers in the event of a data centre failure and the freedom to readily move workloads among private, public and hybrid clouds..
This announcement makes Avnet a leading aggregator for the vCAN Managed Service Providers programme in EMEA, with the service being rolled out in Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany, France, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Turkey, and the UK. Avnet is also currently the sole aggregator for vCAN MSP in Turkey.
“This new offering will enable our partners to help their customers grow their cloud businesses by increasing revenue streams and managing data centre costs,” said Dieter Lott, vice president business development, Avnet Technology Solutions, EMEA. “This programme offers MSPs a unique opportunity to deliver additional public and hybrid cloud services. We can build further on our relationship with VMware by continuing to address the demand for cloud services in EMEA, as well as deliver a market-first service in Turkey.”
“We welcome Avnet as an aggregator in the VMware vCloud Air Network in EMEA,” said Graham Crich EMEA director, Cloud and Service Provider Partners, VMware. “Since 2008, VMware has been working with our partners to provide customers with a simple and flexible path to the cloud. We are pleased to have Avnet in the MSP model to help Service Providers differentiate their businesses through managed services.”
