The Neutral Internet Exchange (NL-ix) opens PoP in TelecityGroup’s Warsaw1 data centre

Expansion due to the increasing level of exchanged Internet traffic and growing peering activity within the Warsaw1 Data Centre.

TelecityGroup and the Neutral Internet Exchange (NL-ix) has opened a Point of Presence (PoP) in TelecityGroup’s Warsaw1 data centre in Poland. TelecityGroup Warsaw1 customers can now exchange Internet traffic with NL-ix’s 530 members over its European network across 11 countries, with a flat rate per port.

The NL-ix specifically chose TelecityGroup’s Warsaw 1 Data Centre (LIM) for their latest PoP, due to the high and increasing level of exchanged Internet traffic and growing peering activity within this data centre. Growing demand from Polish and Eastern networks is driving the NL-ix expansion into Poland, enabling these networks to peer on a European scale.

“Traditional Internet Exchanges focus on one of the major metropolitan areas like Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam and Paris, however NL-ix wants to enable its members to peer and exchange Internet traffic European-wide against a flat rate per port and TelecityGroup’s Warsaw1 data centre is a strategic choice for these reasons”, says Jan Hoogenboom, CEO of NL-ix. We expect our rich services and the added value of 530 member networks we bring to be a catalyst for further growth.”

Sylwester Biernacki, Country Manager at TelecityGroup Poland said, “NL-ix already has a presence in TelecityGroup data centres in the UK, France and Amsterdam (AMS1 through 5) and now with the addition of Poland, this new PoP takes our partnership another step further. The Neutral Internet Exchange new Point of Presence will enable further customer growth and we look forward to enhancing NL-IX’s excellent member network from our Warsaw1 data centre.”
