NTT Communications has launched Arcstar Universal One Virtual, which allows users to easily create, use and control overlay networks on-demand via existing corporate networks or the Internet using software-defined network (SDN) virtual technology. Arcstar Universal One Virtual is now available in 27 countries, including 12 in the Asia Pacific, 11 in the EU, Middle East and Africa, and 4 in the Americas (please see attached "Areas").

To facilitate the global launch, NTT Com has newly established Arcstar Universal One Virtual platforms on the East Coast of the United States and in the United Kingdom, joining existing platforms in Japan, to enable customers to choose the best platform for the shortest latency. Additional platforms will be established on the U.S. West Coast, Hong Kong and Singapore after July.

Customers can create one or more flexible, rapid, low-cost and on-demand networks simply by installing the Application on a PC, smartphone or similar device, or by using customer premise equipment, the Adapter. The user remains in their existing network environment, however, so there is no need to change IP addresses.
Integrated management and operation of newly created virtual networks are possible via the NTT Communications business portal. The portal facilitates real-time service activation and greatly reduces the time to add or change network configurations. Arcstar Universal One Virtual enables quick implementation of secure connectivity in internet environments via VPN, making it a highly practical solution when, for example, constructing a LAN on a closed network.

Going forward, NTT Com expects to further enhance Arcstar Universal One Virtual by adding extending API liberation and strengthen authentication that enable customers to dramatically reform their businesses through advanced ICT technology.
