Bright Computing has released Bright OpenStack, its newest product offering, at the OpenStack Summit. Bright Computing will be in booth T69 at the Summit, taking place May 18-22 at the Vancouver Convention Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia. Visitors to the booth can learn more about how Bright OpenStack makes it easy to deploy, use, and maintain an OpenStack private cloud.

“We designed Bright OpenStack for enterprises that want to run their own private cloud. Bright OpenStack is a complete, standalone OpenStack Private Cloud distribution that is easy to install, manage, use and maintain,” said Dr. Matthijs van Leeuwen, CEO & Founder of Bright Computing. “It combines Bright’s award-winning systems management software with the latest OpenStack software, leading to an integrated solution that consistently results in the deployment of reliable, robust cloud infrastructures.”

Bright OpenStack is a fully integrated solution, allowing users to deploy an OpenStack environment from bare metal servers and manage that environment throughout its entire lifecycle. Administrators can manage different OpenStack users and tenants, as well as multiple instances of OpenStack, their underlying server infrastructure, and even Hadoop and HPC clusters within the OpenStack clouds, all from a single pane of glass user interface. Drawing on over a decade of experience in HPC cluster management and the resulting award-winning user interface, the Bright OpenStack GUI is intuitive and easy to use.

“As a systems integrator of open, modular IT infrastructure solutions, it’s important that we implement high-quality feature-rich solutions to help our customers succeed,” said Sue Lewis, Chief Marketing Officer at Silicon Mechanics. “We’ve deployed Bright software on many projects over the years, and are thrilled that we can now add Bright OpenStack to our portfolio.”

The comprehensive Bright OpenStack wizard automates the specification and implementation of OpenStack clouds, making deployment simple and error-free. Users answer a series of questions posed by the wizard, leading to private cloud deployment in a matter of hours, rather than days or weeks. With Bright OpenStack, it is also possible to dynamically modify the deployment after initial set-up, giving users flexibility unmatched by competing products.

“When you consider the ease of deployment with Bright OpenStack, alongside effective lifecycle management and an intuitive user interface, what we’re really bringing to market is our years of experience building mature, production-ready management software,” van Leeuwen said. “Our new product helps bridge the OpenStack skills gap by implementing best practices and automation, helping everyone from IT administrators to systems integrators be more productive.”
