Rackspace names Scott Crenshaw Senior Vice President, Strategy and Product

Technology industry veteran to drive product development and help lead managed cloud strategy.

Rackspace has named Scott Crenshaw as senior vice president of strategy and product, effective April 6, 2015. Crenshaw, who joins Rackspace from VeriSign, Inc., will oversee the company’s corporate strategy, business development and product and engineering portfolio. He reports to Taylor Rhodes, president and CEO of Rackspace.

About Scott Crenshaw
Prior to joining Rackspace, Crenshaw was senior vice president of products at VeriSign, Inc., where he led the development of the company’s new products and services, including key growth areas.

Before joining Verisign in 2013, Crenshaw was senior vice president, strategy, and chief marketing officer for Acronis, Inc., a data backup and recovery solutions provider. Previously, he served eight years in executive positions at Red Hat, Inc., including vice president and general manager of the cloud business unit and, previously, in the same capacity for the company's Linux platform business unit.

Prior to Red Hat, Crenshaw was the chief executive officer of NTRU Cryptosystems, Inc., a provider of embedded security solutions. He held a number of executive positions at enterprise software vendor Datawatch Corporation, including vice president of business development and vice president of product development. Early in his career he co-founded a networking startup.

Crenshaw holds a Bachelor of Science in computer science from North Carolina State University and a Master of Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was a Sloan Fellow at the Sloan School of Management.
