Apprenda welcomes former Red Hat President and cloud veteran Alex Pinchev to its board

Apprenda, provider of enterprise Platform as a Service (PaaS), has announced that Alex Pinchev, cloud industry veteran and former President of Global Sales, Services and Field Marketing for Red Hat, has joined Apprenda’s board of directors.

Pinchev is the founder and CEO of Capri Ventures, which provides strategic advisory services to technology startups. Previously he served as President and CEO of Acronis, a leading provider of data protection and disaster recovery software and as President of Global Sales, Services and Field Marketing for Red Hat, where he grew revenue from $50 million to more than $1 billion in nine years.

“It’s no secret that Apprenda is making waves in the Platform as a Service space,” Pinchev said. “First and foremost, I was attracted to this team. Sinclair and his fellow co-founders have created something special, and their growth in the coming years should be impressive. Secondly, this technology is already making an incredible impact inside enterprises, enabling them to successfully transform themselves in a software-driven world.”

“Alex is a pioneer in the cloud software business and it’s an honour to have him on our board,” Apprenda CEO Sinclair Schuller added. “He has the experience and vision to help Apprenda take even bigger steps going forward. Our team is lucky to have him.”

Apprenda provides an open and extensible PaaS that minimises lock-in and works seamlessly with many other services used by the world’s largest companies. With Pinchev on the board, Apprenda will explore ways to connect with more open-source technologies and integrate with the biggest enterprise cloud services. Apprenda will extend its already powerful OneCloud Alliance, which includes partners like Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Oracle, and NetApp.

Pinchev has also held a range of senior roles for several other technology companies, including MRO Software, Interchip, and MainControl, where he was founder, CEO, and chairman. He currently sits on the board of directors for XebiaLabs, OneCloud Software, Logi Analytics and now, Apprenda.
