Imperva enhances Incapsula Cloud Service

New features allow advanced security reporting and simplified network infrastructure protection.

Imperva has released updates to Imperva Incapsula, its cloud-based application delivery service. These additions include a turnkey integration with leading security information and event management (SIEM) tools, external monitoring of network infrastructures, and multi-protocol DDoS protection for dedicated customer IP addresses. Combined, these new enhancements bring advanced security capabilities to organizations of all sizes, without the need to augment security and networking teams.

Turnkey SIEM Integration
Incapsula DDoS Protection and Website Security now integrates directly with leading SIEM platforms including HP ArcSight and McAfee Enterprise Security Manager. The integrations include a connector that delivers event logs produced by Incapsula directly to the existing SIEM, as well as advanced reporting and viewing options that allow users to quickly aggregate and analyze attack patterns.

External Monitoring of Network Infrastructure
Customers can now monitor their network for service degradation or loss of availability directly from the Incapsula user interface, even when their traffic is not routed through the Incapsula network. Based on sampling from customer routers, the monitoring process provides an automated notification process that alerts customers when DDoS attacks are detected, and prompts the Incapsula Security Operations Center to contact designated customer staff and advise them of the best mitigation strategy.

Infrastructure Protection for Individual IP Addresses
For enterprises with smaller network presences, such as those with under 256 IP addresses, Incapsula Infrastructure DDoS Protection for individual IP addresses secures against threats previously reserved for large networks with expensive routing equipment. Customers with proprietary protocols and a small number of IP addresses – typical of SaaS, gaming and mobile application companies – now have access to the same advanced DDoS protection.

“Large enterprises have unique security challenges that require scalable, effective solutions that integrate with the in-house security protocols and workflows,” said Eldad Chai, VP of product management for the Incapsula service at Imperva. “With this release, we have added external network monitoring and SIEM integration to help ease this burden.”

“Unfortunately, we believe DDoS attacks are not only becoming more prevalent, but they continue to grow in sophistication. Many smaller organizations need protection that can keep up with evolving threats yet doesn’t require hiring an entirely new security team,” said Jim Davis, senior analyst at the 451 Group. “External monitoring and protection for smaller networks is needed for a host of businesses with proprietary protocols and demanding users, notably gaming servers and mobile applications.”

Imperva Incapsula is a cloud-based application delivery service that makes websites safer, faster, and more reliable. Using Incapsula, organizations large and small can protect their businesses with enterprise-grade web application security, DDoS mitigation, performance optimization and load balancing.
