CIF launches ERP Buyers’ Guide to help businesses navigate the software market

The Cloud Industry Forum (CIF) has launched a ‘Buyers’ Guide to ERP Business Management Software’ to help organisations navigate the often complex world of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and devise the best course of action for their businesses.

The guide is sponsored by NetSuite, the industry’s leading provider of cloud-based financials/ERP and omnichannel commerce software suites, explores the value ERP can bring to a business, how cloud ERP solutions now open the door for businesses of all sizes to benefit from the flexibility, agility and scalability of cloud-based solutions, and highlights the key considerations in evaluating ERP systems.

Alex Hilton, CEO of the Cloud Industry Forum, said: “We recognise that cloud isn’t going to be right for every organisation – and that not all cloud-based ERP systems are the same – so we have set out clearly the benefits of each and compiled a checklist to help businesses to determine the best course of action for them. Depending on the business in question, their rates of growth, need for flexibility and their application landscape, the outcome may be different. With this guide, we hope to demystify the world of ERP and assist in the decision-making process.”

Mark Woodhams, EMEA Managing Director at NetSuite, commented: “At its core, an ERP solution should help employees to do their jobs more efficiently through the automation, integration and consolidation of end-to-end business processes including accounting, human resources, inventory and order management, breaking down the barriers between departments and business units. In reality, achieving a single unified source of ERP data is not possible with antiquated on-premise ERP solutions which are a mishmash of disparate, poorly integrated systems. With a cloud-based ERP solution like NetSuite, employees have access to central, accurate information in one place that enables them to make better decisions faster.”

With this buyers’ guide, companies of all sizes have the opportunity to contrast the value propositions of different deployment options and determine whether cloud-based ERP’s increased flexibility, efficiency and scalability is right for their business.
