Red Hat introduces Cloud Management Certification for Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform

Red Hat expands commitment to open platform development and customer choice; Industry-leading management vendors align with Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform.

Red Hat, Inc. has announced a new cloud management certification for Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform as part of the Red Hat OpenStack Cloud Infrastructure Partner Network, the world’s largest commercial ecosystem for OpenStack. Red Hat will enable cloud management solutions from partners to interoperate with and manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform. The certification offers customers confidence that their OpenStack-based clouds and management solutions have been fully tested together and are supported jointly by Red Hat and the participating companies.

As datacenter infrastructures advance in their journey to the cloud, today’s enterprise reality is heterogeneity of virtualised infrastructure and the need for integrated management solutions. With Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform, Red Hat is maintaining its deep commitment to several key benefits, including a long and stable product lifecycle; tested and secure enterprise-grade solutions; and robust integration through standard interfaces and APIs. The expansion of Red Hat’s certification program to include cloud management solutions enables customers who want to deploy Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform at scale in a private cloud to also use their management solution of choice.

Red Hat is working closely with many management solution providers, including industry leaders BMC and HP. As members of the Red Hat OpenStack Cloud Infrastructure Partner Network, these vendors have provided key insight, feedback and support for the management certification and are all in various stages of the certification process.

Since its inception in April 2013, Red Hat’s OpenStack partner ecosystem has grown from a select group of early adopters to a vast and diverse set of companies, from infrastructure vendors – including independent hardware vendors (IHVs) and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), systems integrators, and independent software vendors (ISVs). Today, the Red Hat OpenStack Cloud Infrastructure Partner Network includes hundreds of technology companies from all global regions that are collaborating with Red Hat to deliver a robust portfolio of enterprise-grade OpenStack solutions to joint customers. Red Hat’s OpenStack ecosystem represents a wide range of vertical industries, including telecommunications, where industry shifts including software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualisation (NFV) are driving interest in OpenStack.
