SimpliVity selects Espion

Leading Value Added Distributor (VAD) Espion, is aiming to carve out an entirely new reseller ecosystem when it launches SimpliVity, the leader in converged infrastructure with its award-winning OmniCube platform, in the UK and Irish markets.

Hailed by research giant IDC, as: “a truly transformative technology”, SimpliVity is an IT infrastructure that replaces traditional, disjointed IT stacks with a radically simplified and assimilated IT building block, - “Omnicube” . This solution delivers faster, smaller, more effective IT systems that are significantly cheaper than other competitors.

Espion believes the market potential, for what is one of the biggest innovations in enterprise computing since VMware, is phenomenal and will embark on a heavyweight mission to “SimpliVity British and Irish enterprises”.

Espion’s head of technology, Jim Lehane comments: “We were blindsided at our first SimpliVity demo. Its concept of ‘packing the stack’ into one single box that holds servers, switches, storage, combined with its ability to de-dupe and backup all with a WAN function makes it an incredibly exciting brand.

When companies actually try the product, they deploy it quickly so our SimpliVity game plan is to firstly target and convert progressive organisations where switching to highly disruptive technologies is easier.”

Since its 2009 launch, US-owned SimpliVity has been in hyper-growth mode with revenues increasing five-fold and has attracted a wealth of high powered talent from big companies such as Oracle. In the past number of months the company has been structuring its UK team, including the appointment of ex Riverbed Jon Arnold, as regional director, in preparation for replicating its US success.

Espion has a strong pedigree in launching and building markets for US vendors. Pioneers such as Arista, Riverbed, Tintri, A10 Networks as well as Fortinet are among the vendors Espion has attracted to its impressive portfolio.

Mitch Breen, Senior Vice President of Global Sales, SimpliVity, said, “We are thrilled to partner with Espion in the UK and Irish markets and value Epsion’s market and technical expertise in design, deployment and support. Espion truly understands the disruptive nature of OmniCube™ and the impact SimpliVity will have in the European market.”

As a leading VAD, Espion has a strong track-record for creating opportunities for its resellers to build strong customer bases with the exceptional technologies it sources and distributes. SimpliVity will enhance its existing portfolio comprising cutting-edge security, storage, virtualisation, wireless and networking technology solutions with leading brands including A10 Networks, Riverbed and Tintri.
