Dimension Data acquires NextiraOne assets

Dimension Data has acquired certain subsidiaries of NextiraOne, the European multinational company that designs, installs, maintains, and supports business solutions and communications services for over 43,000 private and public sector clients throughout Europe.

Effective immediately, the two-part transaction will see Dimension Data acquire NextiraOne’s businesses and its 1,850 permanent employees in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and the United Kingdom. Dimension Data has also undertaken to acquire NextiraOne’s operations in France and Italy in mid-2015, subject to the achievement of certain performance conditions. Dimension Data has not disclosed what it paid for NextiraOne.

Brett Dawson, Dimension Data plc CEO said, “Last year, the Group announced that it will double its revenue over the next five years from USD 6 billion to USD 12 billion. We tripled our business in the last 10 years, and now we’re looking to double it through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. The purchase of NextiraOne is the first major step on this five-year journey. With this transaction, Dimension Data will enter new market segments, grow our client base, and add 1,850 talented employees with great skills to the Dimension Data family. It also provides us with the opportunity to expand into the middle market.

“Dimension Data’s future strategy is to take the combined portfolios of both companies to the SMB, commercial, public sector, and enterprise markets. I am particularly excited about NextiraOne’s unified communications and collaboration business, which provides Dimension Data with the ability to manage communications infrastructure across multiple platforms.

“With NextiraOne now part of Dimension Data, our vision is to become Europe’s leading IT solutions and services provider,” said Dawson.
Andrew Coulsen, CEO of Dimension Data Europe added, “Dimension Data’s footprint in Europe increases from 10 to 16 countries, and we now have a direct presence in six incremental countries including Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, Austria and Portugal, and Ireland. In countries where Dimension Data already has a presence, we have greater market share. We’re also adding 1,075 outstanding technical employees to our European business, and what’s particularly exciting for us is NextiraOne’s strength in the public sector and commercial markets which provides Dimension Data’s with the opportunity to expand into a new market area.”

David Winn NextiraOne CEO and President of the Management Board added: “Becoming part of Dimension Data is a tremendous endorsement of the high quality solutions and services that NextiraOne provides. We have a very strong Communications and UC & Collaboration business with the ability to manage communications infrastructure across multiple legacy platforms. These, together with the combined IT and cloud assets and capabilities of both companies, are extremely powerful, and positions us as one of the leaders in the provision of services and solutions in the ICT sector across Europe.”

NextiraOne will be rebranded to Dimension Data over the next three months. Coulsen maintains his role as CEO of Dimension Data Europe and will lead the integration, while Winn will lead the remaining NextiraOne France and Italy businesses, and at the same time, act as Dimension Data’s advisor for client and vendor engagements.
