Softwerx celebrates new customer approach thanks to CIF accreditation

Cloud Service Provider recertifies against CIF Code of Practice.

APM Group, the Cloud Industry Forum’s (CIF) independent certification partner, has announced that Softwerx has successfully recertified against the CIF Code of Practice, having experienced significant business benefits since initially gaining the certification in 2012.

Being certified against the CIF code of practice has been a huge contributing factor to not only gaining new customers, but also to strengthening the way that Softwerx works with its end users.

David Smart, Managing Director of Softwerx, said: “What we have gained from the accreditation far exceeded our expectations. Our initial interest in being CIF certified was very much rooted in demonstrating our capabilities as an established Cloud Service Provider. We have been helping businesses to move to the cloud for three years now and we already hold several respected ISO accreditations, but as the cloud marketplace becomes more saturated, the Code of Practice has helped us to differentiate ourselves from other cloud providers.

“Since becoming CIF certified, we have attracted new customers, but more importantly, we have rethought our approach to elements of the business to increase transparency. Rather than just migrating customers to the cloud we now explain exactly how we do it and invite them to ask more questions about the process: the net result being happier and more confident customers.”

The approach from Softwerx is very much in line with what APM Group believes should be a universal goal in the cloud industry. Richard Pharro, CEO of APM Group, added: “Businesses are turning to cloud services at a faster pace than ever before but there is still a knowledge gap for many of them to contend with. For many end users, cloud is fast becoming a necessity so it is integral that they are fully aware of all the features of cloud services, and the ins and outs of cloud migration.

“The CIF Code of Practice isn’t just about meeting the requirements and proving that you can provide an effective cloud service; it’s promoting the ethos of transparency between CSPs and end users. Softwerx has very successfully embodied this and its commitment to becoming certified and recertified serves as a great example to other cloud providers aiming to prove their worth in the cloud market.”
