Custom Connect increases connectivity services via Equinix Slough

Now active in five global data centre hubs.

Custom Connect, the provider of advanced carrier-neutral connectivity services, has announced a strengthened partnership with Equinix, the world’s largest IBX data centre and colocation provider. Custom Connect will provide vendor agnostic, high-performance, low-latency infrastructure and connectivity services into the Equinix LD4/5 data centre campus located in Slough, UK.

This new location complements Custom Connect’s current data centre footprint, which includes NYSE’s Basildon, Volta Great Sutton Street in London, Telecity Amsterdam, and Equinix FR2 located in Frankfurt, Germany.

Custom Connect leverages connectivity services from thousands of global carriers and network providers to closely align with the individual business, network and operational requirements of each client. It is a strategy that ensures neutrality as it is delivered through a vendor-agnostic model; available connectivity solutions include dark fibre, Ethernet, standard IP transport or more specialist connectivity like microwave or millimetre-wave.
This neutrality ensures a network implementation that grows alongside the company with the exact traits needed by that specific organisation. Custom Connect’s clients span a range of vertical industries including many of the Fortune 500, Tier 1 Investment Banks, High-Frequency Trading Desks, Internet Service Providers, System Integrators, Cloud Providers, Financial Firms, Media Organisations and Commercial Companies.

Custom Connect’s decision to expand into Equinix LD4/5 demonstrates a continued commitment to the financial services community. Through Custom Connect, organisations that wish to connect into Equinix Slough are now able to benefit from reducing the complexity of sourcing, designing and managing their business-critical networking and colocation infrastructure.

Custom Connect’s Ultra Low Latency solutions are utilised by many trading organisations to ensure high speed and robust connections between key exchanges and FX liquidity venues globally, hence the company’s decision to host infrastructure in the Equinix Slough data centre. Furthermore, Equinix’s proximity to the financial hub of London lets Custom Connect deliver unrivalled connectivity between the data centre, customer sites or other global locations, alongside a dedicated 24x7 services and support model.

Gareth Richardson, Managing Director of Custom Connect UK, said: “Equinix Slough is the hub for many trans-Atlantic cable connections, perfectly located to support London and is the gateway to continental Europe and the Americas. As this location is a magnet for financial firms seeking low-latency connectivity for trading within the US or Europe, it was logical that we provide services through this strategic location. This is the fifth data centre location where we have implemented our own infrastructure within the last two years. We offer many options for network management and connectivity and provide our customers cost-effective services that enable them to operate at these locations. A new service via our Slough site gives us the capability to provide our own IP and Exchange connectivity services to a growing market.”
