RMM includes mobile devices

Update will enable CentraStage to serve fast growing BYOD and CYOD markets.

CentraStage, the IT management-from-the-cloud provider, has launched the latest update support for the Android and iOS platforms, further delivering on the concept of supporting all devices through a single cloud-based platform.

Today’s mobile operating system extensions will enable corporate IT departments and IT service providers to manage large, diverse estates of devices through a single cloud-based platform, regardless of device type, network or location.

CentraStage users will be able to manage mixed fleets of Android, Windows, Apple iOS and Apple OSX devices, with IT managers able to quickly and easily enroll and secure devices, and then manage them on an ongoing basis.

Christian Nagele, CEO and co-founder of CentraStage, says: “Most organisations are facing the challenge not only of managing increasing numbers of endpoints, but also an increasing range of operating systems and models. This in turn is driving an increase in the cost of device management, and the risk these devices pose to the business.

“Our latest release presents a solution to this challenge, enabling our customers to cost-effectively manage all of their devices through a scalable SaaS device management platform, reducing both cost and risk.”

The addition of MDM to the CentraStage platform will enable customers to address many of the challenges associated with new mobility strategies such as bring your own device (BYOD) – with every device, from a server to a mobile, falling under a single, scalable management system, CentraStage simplifies today’s endpoint management challenges.

Ian van Reenen, CTO and co-founder of CentraStage says: “Many organisations seem to view smart phones and tablets as peripheral to their core device estate and thus look to bolt-on or standalone solutions to manage them. That’s a mistake in my view, and can lead to an increased security risk as well as higher cost of management.

“By treating mobile devices as a corporate endpoint alongside servers, desktops and laptops, CentraStage simplifies mobility for our customers by enabling IT managers and service desks to gain visibility and control of their entire IT estate though a single integrated platform.”
