HP Enterprise Services Ltd will provide the Leeds Building Society (LBS) with services to support its savings and lending operations for the next ten years, providing the Society with a cost-effective capability to develop new functionality more quickly as the demands of its customers change.
Leeds Building Society is the fifth largest building society in the UK with assets of more than £10 billion.
"Like all financial institutions, our future is dependent on delivering the services that both current and future customers want and need," says Karen Wint, Leeds Building Society's Operations Director. "We want to deliver product innovation combined with the very high levels of customer service that we know our customers value, whilst maintaining our market-leading cost ratios. With a proven track record of delivering large-scale hosted services and innovative technology, HP can help us achieve our ambitious ten-year plan."
Through the new Shared Services Alliance established by HP and the Yorkshire Building Society (YBS), HP Enterprise Cloud Services - Virtual Private Cloud, part of the HP Converged Cloud portfolio, will support LBS with a fully hosted core application for mortgages and savings.
"This marks a major milestone in HP's plans to provide innovative cloud-based services for mid-tier banking institutions and building societies in the UK," says Jeremy Suddards, vice president FSI, HP Enterprise Services UK&I. "LBS is the foundation client of the recently announced Shared Services Alliance with YBS. We aim to help them compete on a level playing field with larger financial institutions by providing low-cost IT together with innovative products and enhanced customer interaction."
