Eco-friendly Dublin

Dataplex Ireland has announced the new eco-friendly Data Centre in Dublin, a state of the art facility delivering high power density and low PUE, wholesale colocation and private suites for Corporates, Managed Services Providers, Data Centre service providers and International IT Enterprises.

Eddie Kilbane CEO announced today the successful completion of the commissioning, certification and activation stages at the Data Centres Europe 2013 conference. Chairman Colm Piercy also revealed the firms first client is also installed, operational and providing live services. “We are delighted to provide Continent 8 Technologies with their first data centre facilitiy in Ireland, becoming their 10th facility worldwide. Continent 8 are a global managed services provider specialising in cloud and high throughput security services, and are expanding their international footprint and expert team with us in Dublin”.


The B10 facility is located in the established Dublin 15 data centre cluster, and is connected via multiple diversely routed fibre networks, including the T50 carrier ring with access to 27 international carriers, plus direct fibre connectivity from Colt, Digiweb, BT, Viatel and EU Networks.


B10 is a 6,500 sqm (70,000 sq ft) facility with 8MW connected power, designed to a Tier III+ specification and best practice in data centre architecture, achieving market leading power efficiency of 1.15 PUE through availing of the naturally favourable Irish climate and Indirect Free Air Cooling. This approach ensures a much more eco-friendly operation and reduced running costs for clients locating with Dataplex.


Private Suites and Powered Shell space are available from 100sqm to 3,000sqm, and power density from 1.5kW/sqm to 10kW/sqm.


Dataplex are focusing on wholesale and larger requirements – providing dedicated suite and powered shell configurations. Space may be occupied immediately, or clients may opt for tailored bespoke configuration and fitout delivered within 16 weeks of contract.
Dataplex are also developing facilities in London and in Malta.
