TelecityGroup recertified for key international management system standards

Demonstrates commitment to maintaining excellence in management system standards across European operations.

TelecityGroup has announced Group-wide recertification to the ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards - globally recognised certifications for information security, quality management, environment and health and safety. The recertifications demonstrate TelecityGroup’s commitment to maintaining excellence in management system standards across its European operations.

The ISO 27001 standard is the strictest international standard in information security management and enables companies to certify the security practices they adopt within their organisation. The recertification of this standard demonstrates TelecityGroup’s comprehensive suite of security controls and how its overarching management processes ensure these controls continue to meet its customers’ security needs.

The ISO 9001 standard is a business quality management standard, which demonstrates that procedures are in place to ensure operational standards are met. The standard highlights TelecityGroup’s effective quality management system, and the high quality service it provides its customers.

ISO 14001 is an internationally-recognised certification for organisations that demonstrate superior environmental management. The certificate highlights TelecityGroup’s ongoing commitment to both maximise the energy efficiency of its existing data centre estate and develop innovative new facilities.

Finally, OHSAS 18001 is an assessment specification for occupational health and safety management systems. This validates that TelecityGroup shows excellence in health and safety performance, and demonstrates the leadership to reduce risk and create an injury-free workplace.
Michael Tobin, CEO, TelecityGroup said: “We are absolutely committed to provide the optimum environments across Europe for our customers to house the critical infrastructure which is powering the digital economy. Customers can benchmark our commitment to quality through our adherence to the established and recognised global standards, so we’re delighted to announce recertification to these. Our customers can be confident that our facilities meet the most rigorous international standards, ensuring a consistently high quality of service.”

The certifications cover all of TelecityGroup’s operational data centres in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, France, Italy, Ireland and Sweden for a further three years. TelecityGroup’s recently acquired facilities in Helsinki will be assessed during 2013.
