Phoenix opens its doors to multi-million business continuity site extension

Attendees invited for guided tour of Hamilton facility and hands-on experience of the technology.

In light of a multi-million investment to enhance and upgrade its business continuity centre in Hamilton, Scotland; Phoenix, one of the UK’s largest IT services and business continuity providers, is extending an open invitation to anyone interested in IT or business continuity, to visit its newly extended and improved centre on 30th April for educational presentations, guided tours of the facility and hands-on experience of the technology.

Visitors will learn about the latest trends in business continuity management from a range of guest speakers, including representatives from the Scottish Continuity Group, as well as receiving technology updates from IT and data backup providers. As well as theory, speakers will also explore real life case studies, practical demonstrations and examples of personal experiences within the BC landscape.

Attendees will receive a first-hand-look at new products and services, which allow firms to recover more quickly and for less than was previously assumed for extremely high levels of availability data and systems.

In addition to networking and sharing ideas with like-minded peers, Mike Osborne, managing director of Phoenix’s business continuity unit, highlights that the opening of the new Hamilton site is the culmination of three years worth of research, development and innovation, bringing together Scotland’s most complete business continuity centre which now offers 847 standby office and call centre positions, 220 Datacentre Racks, high speed networks and Internet connectivity plus innovative data storage solutions.

“The investment and enhancement to Hamilton puts the centre at the forefront of IT DR solutions, innovations in data backup and planning techniques, all integrated with managed recovery and planning services.

“We are incredibly proud of our investment and are keen to showcase this to our peers. We believe this free seminar and open day will prove the ideal opportunity to demonstrate this while challenging everything you think you know about business continuity and the way you do it.”
