In a recent IDC Analyst Connection report, "Reduce Storage Infrastructure Costs and Complexity with Copy Data Management," it's estimated that in 2011 the amount of information created and replicated surpassed 1.8 zettabytes -- or 1.6 trillion gigabytes. This data is expected to continue to grow, in aggregate, at a CAGR of 45 percent from 2010 to 2015.
