Fujitsu introduces a new solution intended to provide peace-of-mind for small and mid-size businesses (SMBs) that rely on Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to do optimized business. Launched at CeBIT, the new Fujitsu PRIMERGY CX420 introduces simplified clustering technology designed to help extend system uptime and protect business continuity in the event of an ICT system failure.
Commenting on a New York Times story about the governance issues that portable devices and their leaky apps create for companies, Varonis Systems says that mobile access to cloud-based data - and replication to the device itself - has become the new corporate norm. “Organisations are losing track of where their critical data is stored, so controlling, monitoring and auditing that data is becoming more and more difficult. According to the latest EMEA Server Tracker from International Data Corporation (IDC), factory revenue in the EMEA server market reached $3.8 billion in the fourth quarter of 2012, a decrease of 7.4% when compared with the same quarter of 2011. This rate of decline was slightly softer than in the previous quarter when revenue was down 10.4%. 4Q12 shipments reached 569,000 units, for an annual decline of 11.1%. The quarter-on-quarter performance displayed a different landscape with double-digit growth in the value area and revenue up 32.2% with shipments growing by a more subdued 8.2%. This roughly reflected seasonality trends.
