CTERA has announced CTERA InsightAI, an AI intelligence layer for its Intelligent Data Platform designed to support enterprise management of unstructured data through AI-driven data observability and operations.
The InsightAI system continuously monitors enterprise data activities to identify emerging risks, unusual behaviours, and changing storage patterns in real time. The platform uses AI to provide visibility across data environments by integrating elements such as audit trails, metadata, and capacity trends.
By analysing data telemetry and presenting operational insights, InsightAI is intended to help organisations improve data governance, strengthen security, and optimise data management processes.
InsightAI includes the following capabilities:
- Security & Threat Investigation: AI-driven auditing tools designed to identify suspicious activities and support investigation and recovery operations.
- Compliance & Governance: Features intended to support regulatory requirements such as GDPR and HIPAA through record preservation and customised reporting.
- Storage Cost Optimisation: Tools that provide visibility into storage growth and lifecycle inefficiencies to support capacity planning and utilisation.
- Consumption Analytics: Analytics on storage usage patterns to assist with financial chargeback and resource allocation models.
- Operational Efficiency: A natural language assistant designed to help users investigate issues and support operational decision-making.
- Deployment Flexibility: InsightAI can be deployed as a CTERA-hosted SaaS offering, within customer-managed Azure or AWS VPCs, or on private cloud environments including AWS GovCloud and Azure Government.
