Vertiv has launched the Vertiv CoolPhase Wall, a wall-mounted cooling system designed for small IT spaces and edge environments. The system is intended for IT equipment, supporting heat removal and continuous operation while not occupying floor space. It is available across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

As distributed computing becomes more widely used, demand for thermal management systems suited to electronic equipment has increased. The system is positioned to address requirements where traditional comfort cooling systems may not meet the higher sensible heat ratio (SHR) and airflow needs of IT environments. It includes monitoring features designed to support equipment operation and continuous uptime.

The Vertiv CoolPhase Wall is a split system with a wall-mounted indoor cooling unit and is designed to provide up to 60% more airflow than conventional systems. It uses variable-speed compressors and fans to adjust output based on heat load, supporting energy-efficient operation.

It is designed to handle thermal loads up to 11 kW and operate in temperatures ranging from -35 to 48°C. It includes the Liebert iCOM control system for local configuration and monitoring of operational parameters, as well as remote communication capabilities for status updates and alerts via a secure web interface.

The system uses R-32 refrigerant, described as a lower global warming potential option aligned with European Union F-Gas regulations.

The CoolPhase Wall extends Vertiv’s thermal management portfolio for applications including edge deployments, enterprise data centres, and high-density AI environments, alongside technologies such as direct-to-chip liquid cooling and rear door heat exchangers.
