ZutaCore introduces waterless cooling for AI infrastructure

ZutaCore’s OmniTherm cold plate is designed for cooling high-density PCIe GPU servers to support reliable and efficient AI operations.

ZutaCore, a company specialising in waterless, direct-to-chip, two-phase liquid cooling, has introduced the OmniTherm cold plate. This technology enables manufacturers to use waterless two-phase cooling for servers equipped with the NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs in a single-slot PCIe format. It is designed to support full-power operation in standard enterprise and AI cloud server environments.

As AI inference expands across businesses and cloud platforms, PCIe GPU servers are increasingly used due to their ease of deployment, scalability, and integration with existing infrastructure. As GPU performance increases, air cooling can become a limiting factor, reducing server density and increasing fan power, which can raise the risk of thermal throttling during sustained workloads.

OmniTherm is designed to address these constraints by enabling two-phase liquid cooling without introducing water inside servers. Its single-slot design supports higher accelerator density in standard server architectures. Heat is transferred into a liquid loop, reducing reliance on high fan speeds that can increase noise and power consumption.

Designed for “Always-On” AI operations, the OmniTherm system is intended to manage thermal fluctuations associated with production AI workloads. Its two-phase design responds to changing workload demands, supporting stable performance under varying conditions.

For data centre operators, reliability is a key consideration alongside performance. OmniTherm is designed to cool the GPU die as well as components such as the CPU and next-generation high-bandwidth memory. This supports long-duration, high-bandwidth AI workloads and helps reduce thermal stress that can affect system longevity.

As server power demands increase, the operational costs of air cooling can rise due to higher fan energy use and facility requirements. OmniTherm uses a sealed, non-conductive dielectric fluid system to capture heat without the need for facility water, helping reduce cooling overhead and support working conditions in data centres.
