Veeam Software acquires Securiti AI to transform data management and security landscape

Veeam's acquisition of Securiti AI heralds a new era in data resilience, governance, and AI trust, uniting the industry's leading platforms.

Veeam Software, a global leader in data resilience, has successfully acquired Securiti AI, a frontrunner in data security, privacy, and governance, for $1.725 billion. This strategic move aims to revolutionise the approach to data security and management in the AI-driven era.

The merger combines Veeam's data resilience prowess, trusted by over 550,000 customers, with Securiti AI's advanced data security platform. This unification creates the first comprehensive data platform capable of seeing, securing, governing, and recovering data at AI speed.

As AI investments surge, ensuring data trust becomes increasingly vital. According to Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam, the fusion of Veeam’s and Securiti AI’s capabilities offers the first platform that provides total visibility, security, and recoverability across data estates.

The integration of Veeam and Securiti AI will deliver:

  • Comprehensive oversight for both structured and unstructured data;
  • Continuous governance with identity-aware runtime enforcement;
  • Robust zero-trust security and resilience.
  • Guaranteed clean data recovery;
  • Seamless pathways to expedite AI adoption throughout enterprises.

With 600 Securiti AI employees joining Veeam, including Rehan Jalil as President of Security and AI, the merger strengthens Veeam's global expertise in AI security, privacy engineering, and compliance. Jalil’s leadership is expected to accelerate safe AI adoption on an enterprise scale.

AI adoption has turned unstructured data into both a valuable asset and a potential risk. The new unified Veeam and Securiti AI platform addresses these challenges with real-time data visibility, security, and recovery capabilities, offering a sophisticated solution in an era where data forms the bedrock of competitive advantage.

The integrated platform promises to empower organisations through:

  • Real-time Veeam Data Command Graphs for data insight;
  • Enhanced DSPM, privacy, governance, and access control measures;
  • Swifter data recovery with cleanroom-validated restoration;
  • Construction of governed pipelines for efficient AI utilisation.

This acquisition marks a significant step toward equipping businesses to innovate securely and efficiently in an increasingly AI-dominated landscape.
