Heliot Europe has introduced its Heliot Business Partner Program. This program has been launched to enable the channel to capitalise on the market potential for selling IoT solutions across the UK and Europe; supporting the industry’s need for compelling IoT devices and connectivity solutions. For instance, research from industry analysts, IoT Analytics, demonstrates the growth opportunity available to the channel. The number of global IoT connections grew 18% in 2022 to 14.3 billion active IoT endpoints. In 2023 IoT Analytics predicts this global number of connected IoT devices will grow another 16%, to 16.7 billion active endpoints.

Heliot operates the Sigfox IoT Network in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, the UK, Denmark and Liechtenstein – and business partners form a core pillar of Heliot’s business. A key aim for Heliot is to recruit and offer partners across the UK and Europe the best and most reliable basis for successful IoT projects to be built on. This Business Partner Program provides this capability to the market. It enables the channel to drive revenue and take advantage of the benefits that IoT offers businesses.

Advantages of working together: closing the deal

Heliot provides partners and customers with the right data for its applications and use cases. Unique in the market is that Heliot’s devices come with a battery life of up to 10 years. This makes its solutions energy-saving, sustainable, low-maintenance and easy to implement. Further, as a Heliot Business Partner, the channel will gain exclusive access to its partner connectivity price grid, allowing organisations to be more flexible with solution pricing, immediately rewarding sales efforts – for instance, there is up to 10% discount offered for contracts signed for more than one year.

Heliot’s consultative solution-sell enables the channel to become trusted advisors to the market when offering customers IoT solutions. It provides reasonable support with co-marketing activities; shares access to exclusive products and attractive offers for IoT hardware, software and solutions; its rewards and incentive program is attractive too, rewarding partners at the end of the year with discounts in kind (e.g. connectivity) or cashback; and its training and events ensures teams are at the forefront of IoT technology knowledge and sales techniques. In addition, from time to time, projects require special conditions and support. In these scenarios Heliot is committed to collaborating with partners to find competitive pricing that increases margins and closes the deal.

Four partner levels: Authorized, Silver, Gold, and Integration

Every channel business partner is at a different stage with offering IoT to the market, and every company has different requirements. Heliot has created four partner levels to meet this need.

Authorized Business Partner: This partnership level provides access to Heliot’s partner connectivity price grid and to most of the other benefits; such as training, events and marketing support. Channel organisations only have to invest in a little bit of time for training.

Silver Business Partner: Additional to the benefits from the Authorized Partnership, Silver partners receive compelling bonuses from selling connectivity. Participation typically involves a small commitment fee.

Gold Business Partner: On top of the Authorized Business Partner benefits, Gold Partners are rewarded with greater bonuses on connectivity sales in comparison to ‘Silver’. Unlocking benefits here requires a commitment fee too.

Integration Partner: Becoming an Integration Partner enables channel partners to attain the best support from Heliot’s IoT experts when implementing Heliot’s IoT technology into partners’ IoT solutions. Commitment to launch a prototype or product based on Heliot’s technology within 6 months is required.

Gareth Mitchell, UK Partner Manager, Heliot Europe says, "Heliot is committed to the channel. We rely on partners to be our sales distribution network, so that we can focus on operating and extending our world-class radio network. Our dedicated channel team and partner program is devoted to supporting your sales and marketing activities. The more you grow your sales, the more benefits you earn.”

“With all channel partnership levels we offer extremely attractive prices for connectivity. For Silver and Gold partnerships partners can further benefit from an inviting and lucrative bonus; therefore these programs have been designed to encourage partners to commit to activate an agreed number of devices under contracts within 3 years of partnership.”

“This commitment is generally secured by a one-off down payment, the amount of which varies depending on the partnership level, and the underlying volume commitment. The commitment fee is 50% of the token price for the committed volume and is due with the beginning of the partnership. Later, when activating a device, 50% of the first year’s token price is taken from this down payment.”
