Knight Frank launches dedicated EMEA and APAC data centres offer

Knight Frank, the global property adviser, has launched a new data centres offer across EMEA and APAC with the senior appointment of Stephen Beard. Joining as a Partner and Head of EMEA and APAC Data Centres, Stephen will lead the new dedicated service line, as the firm continues to expand its global remit.

Joining Knight Frank from CBRE where he was an Associate Director working across the data centres division, Stephen will be at the forefront of building the firm’s EMEA and APAC data centres offer, to concentrate on this rapidly growing part of the alternatives market and Knight Frank’s strong capital markets capabilities.

Knight Frank’s dedicated EMEA and APAC data centres team will form a core part of the firm’s global service line, enhancing its well-established centre of excellence in the US, and drawing on its wide-reaching international network.

The team will specialise in investment, site transactions and occupier advisory, providing data centres market insight throughout EMEA and Asia Pacific. This will be particularly in the key FLAP markets of Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London and Paris in Europe and the core APAC markets of Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo and Hong Kong, in addition to the fast-emerging markets throughout both regions.

The team will also work closely with Knight Frank’s industrial and land teams, capitalising on the firm’s commercial and land expertise.

Stephen’s previous experience includes over four years of advising and transacting on behalf of investors, operators and occupiers on the global data centres market.

Alistair Elliott, Senior Partner & Group Chairman at Knight Frank, said: “Stephen’s appointment is hugely exciting and drives forward our strategy to provide our clients with the best market-leading insight and commercial opportunities across the globe. He will be working closely with our capital markets team and global centre of excellence in the US to enhance our international operability in the burgeoning data centres sector.

“Stephen has an exceptional track record and unrivalled experience in this highly important sector and is the ideal person to launch and rapidly grow the EMEA and Asia Pacific practice, complementing our offering in the US and strengthening Knight Frank’s global capabilities in the market.”

Stephen Beard, Partner and Head of EMEA and APAC Data Centres at Knight Frank, said: “As an emerging asset class, the data centres market is growing exponentially; we are experiencing unprecedented levels of demand in the sector and there couldn’t be a better time to launch and grow a dedicated EMEA and APAC offer.

“I am looking forward to strengthening Knight Frank’s international go-to-market strategy, working closely with my colleagues around the world to provide our occupier and investment clients with the finest data centres market advice.”
