Acronis has formed a new partnership with Atlético de Madrid, one of the greatest football clubs not only in Spain but worldwide, with 10 LaLiga titles, 10 King Cups, 8 international trophies won and currently second placed at the UEFA ranking. As the team's official Cyber Protection Partner, Acronis will be providing multiple services and solutions to the team to prevent data loss and mitigate risk, including Acronis Backup, Disaster Recovery, and File Sync and Share. The protection will cover hundreds of workstations, servers, and cloud storage locations.

Atlético de Madrid's Technology and Digital Development Director, René Abril, shares his optimism on how this partnership will help take the club to the next level: "sport, and particularly football, has for years relied heavily on technological advances. The clubs are committed to ensuring that the experience in the stadiums is also backed by connectivity, always respecting the leading role of sport. We have a new stadium where sensorisation and data generation are pillars of our transformation plan. Acronis offers us the security of having our data protected from any threat."

Acronis solutions are built upon the Five Vectors of Cyber Protection, which are Safety, Accessibility, Privacy, Authenticity, and Security (SAPAS). Solutions built upon this design philosophy offer organisations both security and ease-of-access to their data, which are commonly thought of as being polarizing concepts, along with the guarantee that their data is tamper-free and legitimate.

One such solution that Atlético de Madrid will be using is Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud, which offers backup & recovery, anti-malware, and security & management from a single console.

Acronis' Channel Sales Manager, Alessandro Perotti, discusses why he believes SAPAS and synergy are such important concepts in modern-day cybersecurity: “when you have one solution for anti-malware, one for backup, and so on, even if each solution is individually powerful you end up with a patchwork of protection tools. This leads to gaps in any organisation's defence that can be exploited. Acronis' single, unified approach not only eliminates those gaps, but makes it easier than ever to protect data, since everything is managed through a single console.”

In addition to providing cyber protection solutions, Acronis will be undertaking joint projects together with Atlético de Madrid.

“Data is pivotal to any modern-day sports team,” comments Alessandro Perotti, “we are proud to have the opportunity to not only protect Atlético de Madrid's data, but to help them analyse it, as well.”
