Consortium to focus on detecting and responding to ransomware and other destructive events

Ransomware, destructive malware, insider threats, and end-user mistakes present an ongoing threat to organizations that manage data in various forms. Database records and structure, system files, configurations, user files, application code, and customer data are all potential targets of data corruption and destruction. To address these data integrity challenges, the NCCoE will implement Glasswall’s innovative solutions, along with other technologies, in a laboratory environment. The outcome will detail methods and potential tool sets that can detect, mitigate, and contain attacks within an enterprise network. It will also identify tools and strategies to aid in a security team’s response to such events.

The innovative Glasswall FileTrustÔ ATP for Email solution provides deep file-inspection, remediation and sanitization technology (d-FIRST™) which integrates seamlessly with existing security architecture and anti-virus software. It acts as the final line of defense against weaponized email attachments and emailed documents containing zero day exploits and malware. Glasswall neutralizes these attacks by delivering attachments as standard-compliant files, providing users the confidence to open attachments without the risk of malware.
